Rainy Day Meditation

To do this meditation - find a comfortable seat on a pillow, or two, so that your knees are lower than your hips. Find a position that allows your chest to be open and spine erect.

This short meditation will connect you to your breath, your compassion, and the world around you.

See the message below for why I filmed this video and about our powerful connection to each other. Namaste.

This clip is from an Instagram Live Meditation where we raised donations for Equality Justice Initiative for the Black Lives Matter cause. (If you feel compelled, please look into this organization. They are doing great work and your support makes a difference. “Just Mercy” was based off of the founder’s story. <3)

We breathe one unified breath - each a different rhythm, but all the same air - never ceasing until the end of our life.

See your breath as an outward depiction of the natural law of giving and receiving - connecting you intimately to the universe. With each inhale - you are nourished by the whole world’s breath. With each exhale, you nourish the rest of the world. Both are natural and (usually) effortless. Both are necessary.

When we view ourselves as one organism instead of individuals, meaning everything and everyone on Earth composes one collective being, then we can see that our diversity is needed and is part of life itself. We can see diversity in our own bodies - even one eye might not look like the other but that does not mean one is lesser than the other - and each part serves its unique purpose. Therefore, when one part suffers, so does the rest of the body. In the same way, when one of us is struggling, we are all affected to some degree (consciously or unconsciously). For this reason - it is our duty to lift each other up, and one way we can do this is by taking care of ourselves because everyone around us benefits from it - just like our breath shows us.

Give what you want to receive.

When we give out of love, connectedness and true awareness, it will not return void.

Your breath is a gift. Your breath is life. Your life is a gift.

Let us lift each other up with abundant compassion and grace.

Black lives matter.

love, Sarah
